Our Story

About Us

Since 2021, 5 BarbQ has been located in the community of Stoneburg TX, right on US81 ( north of Bowie city limits, map address 106 Crabtree St, Bowie TX, 76230). Launched by Becky & W.D. Stalcup, 5 BarBQ was years in the making and offers 100% wood fired barbecue along with select sides and desserts.  After numerous food trailer events in 2020 and 2021, at local Celina TX venues like Rollertown Beerworks, Little Wooden Penguin and Silo Park (Prosper) and some catering, we decided to find a building.  We are so fortunate to have found the one we are in now! 

Using our in house developed signature rub, “5 BarBQ’s 5 Pepper Rub” coupled with an almost* 100% gluten free menu, we offer sumptuous, naturally prepared, slow smoked, flavorful Texas barbecue with a touch of spice.  Our savory and slightly sweet 5 BarBQ sauce is built around the 5 Pepper Rub simmered together with a few ingredients like apple cider vinegar, tomatoes and molasses.  We think all of our meats can stand alone - sauceless - if that’s your choice (personally we like to dip), but also don’t want to deprive anyone of the perfect sauce pairing to go with the rich smoked and spiced meats.  The sauce is always available on the side.  

Over the years we’ve learned great barbecue consists of 5 key ingredients: smoke, spice, meat, time and friends.  We hope you enjoy eating 5 BarBQ as much as we love making it.

* our regular sandwich buns are not gluten free but we have one that is! and everything else is gluten free to start with.
